If you could put ‘sleep’ in a box and sell it, there would be a clambering of parents spanning the globe several times over. Like the pandemonium of the Boxing Day sales, there would be a tsunami surge of weary-eyed mums and dads who would stop at nothing to get their hands on that tranquil holy grail. And the queue starts with ME.
You think gold is a rare and precious commodity? Ha-ha-ha-ha, I laugh in your face, ‘gold’. You are but a worthless wooden penny against the rarity and value of a good 40-winks. Hell, the street-value of an uninterrupted 15 minute power-nap is beyond the computational capabilities of any super-computer. Yet, we’ll gladly mortgage our house to pay for one.
Parents fully understand the arduous and sometimes treacherous nature of getting kids to bed. Often preceded by the drawing of straws and the oft-quoted, ‘wish me luck, I’m going in.’ Or, ‘tell my wife, I love her.’ Oh, how I yearn for that elusive ‘sleep’ in a box.
Fortunately, child sleep-aid specialists, Cloud b, has done just that, or the next best thing at least.
Tranquil Turtle
Sleep-in-a-box. Or should that be, a shell?
Cloud b are award-winning leaders in creating products that help children sleep and ease their fear of the dark and Tranquil Turtle is just one of several products in their inventory. He’s pretty cool. As well as being soft and plushie, he has this translucent shell that projects undulating wave-like ripples on the ceiling that makes you feel like you’re looking at the ocean. Plus, there’s the sound machine unit which offers two calming choices: a gentle melody or whispering waves. The visuals combined with the harmonious sounds is a sure-fire way to help your kids get to sleep and turns itself off after 23 minutes. Winner of Infant Toy of the Year Award and the National Parenting Center Seal of Approval, so it’s a great solution for kids who are afraid of the dark.
What do our kids think?
Initially, our kids were so excited by the waves, they spent the first 15 minutes making shadow-puppet whales and fishes on the ceiling before dropping off like a stone. The next night, they were out in under five and to be really honest, so was I. No kidding. Listening to the sound of the ocean, I struggled to keep my own eyes open. Same for Mumma the next night, asleep on the bed right next to Indy. So, we both finally got those uninterrupted power-naps I mentioned.
Win-win.
With Christmas right around the corner, Tranquil Turtle is an ideal gift for any kids struggling with sleep or fear of the dark. Give the gift of light and tranquility to those who really need it at bedtime. It retails for $79.99. You can order online from the Cloud b website or you can buy in store at Babies R Us, Myer and David Jones. Your kids and your sleep will thank you.
Wow, that sounds like something even I could use, I would give anything to fall asleep within 5 or 10 minutes 👍
Well then, you should speak to Santa about that 😉
