INDY’S BIG FINISH

If there’s one thing I hate more than washing dishes, is having to wash them again after they’ve already been washed! That goes double for the dishwasher.

Back in the day, it was my Papa’s job to wash the dishes and his philosophy was, ‘What you don’t get off in the sink, you get off with the tea towel when you dry it.’ Which is fine if you don’t mind drying your hands on a towel caked in dry bits of food that could tear through your flesh like a jagged tin can.

But dishwashers have made our lives easier…when they’re loaded properly and have the right stuff in them, that is. Just for the record, a dishwasher is NOT a magic hole in the wall that mysteriously cleans everything you put into it. (That’s a washing machine or possibly a black-hole vortex).

There’s a precision, art and order to it that allows an even distribution of water jettage and arm spinny-thingy that if left to spin its twirly haymaker arm spinny action unencumbered (in the same way an angry wife might come at you after being told for the umpteenth time, that’s not how you pack the dishwasher), and provided you haven’t loaded it with dishwasher tablets that look like they were chipped from Moses’ stone tablets just to save a few pennies, then the result should be satisfactory (but not brilliant) unless…

You load it with Finish Quantum with Power Gel tablets. Then you’ll end up with a dishwasher that sparkles more than Liberace in a mirror-ball shop and end up with dishes so clean, you could eat off them! When it comes to easy detergent, these are the goods I tells ya!

My honest opinion is, these are great dishwasher tablets and we never use anything else. We ALWAYS use the ones with the Power Gels because they just get the job done better than anything else (barring of course, a grotty food ridden tea towel). Honestly, it’s so simple a child could do it (and often does). 😉

And not only are they great for doing dishes, but they’re brilliant for washing cars in there too 😉

HANDY TIP: Always wipe out the tablet compartment on your dishwasher and make sure it’s dry before putting the gels in. If there’s any liquid in the compartment when you put the gel in, it may stick to the inside and not dissolve in the cycle properly. What you end up with is a mash of goop sporting a deformed red lump that looks like it just went 20 rounds with Mike Tyson, sulking in the bottom of your dishwasher.

But don’t just take my word for it, I’m giving away a FREE PACK OF 10 POWER GELS.

Just post your response in the comments completing the phrase:

“The worst thing about washing dishes is…”

The answer deemed most cringe-worthy gets the next 10 dishwashing cycles on me. (Not literally ‘ON’ me, but…I think you know what I’m saying, ‘The milky bars Power Gels are on, me!”)

The worst thing about washing dishes is a hole in the glove when I go the scratch off some gunk only for it to get stuck under my fingernail. Then flicking my hand in disgust and getting spew worthy dish water in my mouth.

    Dishwashers rock!

Firstly I’d like to let you know that we have 8 kids here- and as you can imagine that amounts to a lot of dishes! Luckily we have trained them to wash them lol, so we don’t have to! Perfect right?

Ahhhhh……nope unfortunately!! It’s always so lovely when you’re drinking your morning coffee only to discover that at the bottom is the remnants of whatever was in there before (think dried up milk etc) or when you go to get a plate out the cupboard and food is still plastered to it. Or a pot, or the frypan- and if you haven’t used it for a while it’s even worse :/ Apparently checking them before putting them away is too hard!

We LOVE our dishwasher and only use Finish- after all we don’t want any nasty surprises! 😉

Sounds like the same cups and plates I get at Granny’s. Mind you, she doesn’t have 8 kids to distract her from washing them properly. Sounds like a full time job just washing dishes with that many kids, Jessie. You must have to feed them in shifts? Finish is also good for shining medals, you deserve one 😉

Full time job for the kids lol, they do most of them. They love the dishwasher, we didn’t have one when we first moved in here and they had to hand wash everything.
We just use big saucepans, I am very used to cooking in large quantities now. I have actually reduced the amount I cook as my oldest kids have moved out!
And no medal for me, it is most definitely a team effort. As well as the kids helping a bit I am lucky to have a great hubby who does a lot too 🙂

Hearing that reminds me of when I was a kid and used to stand on a chair at the sink to wash the dishes. And that kind of humility is what makes you medal worthy. I can clearly envision the production line in your kitchen pre and post meal times. Are there whistles? I bet there’s whistles 😉

No whistles here LOL, when there is food to be had they are never far away. My kids are good eaters and will line up at the bench watching us serving it (which is actually quite annoying when they complain if someone younger has more than them 😉 )
Dishes are always done pretty much straight after dinner as it is a process, the floor has to be swept by hubby or I (whoever hasn’t cooked) once they are finished and we don’t want to still be cleaning at 10pm. As a result the victim….oops I mean child can’t escape the dishes! haha

Congratulations JessieHay1 on being selected the winner of our Finish Quantum Power Gel giveaway. The thought of eating off crusty old plates and drinking out of crusty mugs (I hate finishing the last mouthful of tea to discover the old remnants of milo from 1978 stuck to the inside rim), and to help your production line run smooth and sparkly at the end of dinner, a 10 pack of Finish Quantum with Power Gels is all yours! Email me your contact details and I’ll organise to get them sent out. Happy Washing! 🙂
